Description
A quick and refreshing slushie made with frozen strawberries, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of sweetness, ready in just 5 minutes. Perfect for hot days and kid-approved.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups frozen strawberries (about 300g)
- ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2–3 lemons, 120ml)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar or honey (50g)
- 1 cup cold water (240ml)
- 1 cup ice cubes (about 150g)
- Optional: fresh mint leaves
- Optional: splash of sparkling water
Instructions
- Roll your lemons on the counter to release the juice. Cut them in half and juice until you have about ½ cup of fresh lemon juice. Set aside.
- Add 2 cups frozen strawberries, ½ cup fresh lemon juice, ¼ cup sugar (or honey), 1 cup cold water, and 1 cup ice cubes into your blender. If adding mint leaves or sparkling water, add now or after blending.
- Pulse the blender a few times to break up the ice, then blend on high until the texture is smooth but still thick and icy. Adjust thickness by adding more water or ice cubes as needed.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired.
- Pour into glasses and garnish with a lemon slice or fresh mint. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use frozen strawberries for best texture. Fresh lemon juice is essential for brightness. Pulse ice and fruit before full blending to protect blender and improve texture. Avoid overblending to prevent watery slush. For a fizzy version, stir in sparkling water after blending.
