Red White and Blue Layered Jello Cups Easy No-Bake Dessert Recipe

  • Author: Nora Winslow
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A festive, easy no-bake dessert featuring vibrant red, white, and blue layered Jello cups perfect for patriotic celebrations. Quick to make with simple layering and fridge chilling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) Red Jello mix (cherry or strawberry flavor)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) Blue Jello mix (blue raspberry flavor)
  • 2 teaspoons (6g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup (240ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 cups (960ml) cold water total
  • 1 cup (240ml) whipped topping or Cool Whip (optional)
  • Fresh berries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup (240ml) of water. Pour it into a bowl with the red Jello mix and stir until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add 1 cup (240ml) of cold water and mix well.
  3. Pour the red Jello evenly into your cups—about ⅓ of the cup each.
  4. Place cups in the fridge and chill for 15-20 minutes until the layer is firm but still slightly tacky.
  5. In a small bowl, sprinkle 2 teaspoons (6g) of unflavored gelatin over ½ cup (120ml) of cold water. Let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  6. While gelatin blooms, mix 1 cup (240ml) sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup (240ml) cold water in a separate bowl.
  7. Heat the bloomed gelatin in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until melted (don’t boil).
  8. Stir the melted gelatin into the condensed milk mixture thoroughly.
  9. Fold in 1 cup (240ml) whipped topping for fluffy texture.
  10. Layer the white mixture over the red layer carefully, using a spoon or spatula to avoid breaking the red layer.
  11. Return to the fridge and chill for another 20 minutes until set.
  12. Dissolve blue Jello mix in 1 cup (240ml) boiling water, stir, add 1 cup (240ml) cold water, mix well.
  13. Pour carefully over the white layer to complete the patriotic colors.
  14. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until fully set.
  15. Top each cup with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
  16. Serve chilled.

Notes

Let each layer set properly before adding the next to prevent colors from bleeding. Bloom gelatin fully and heat gently to ensure the white layer sets well. Use clear cups for best visual effect. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. For dairy-free, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut milk condensed milk alternatives and use dairy-free whipped topping.
