  • Author: Nora Winslow

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe topped with a bright, zesty lemon dill butter, perfectly cooked in just 8 minutes. Ideal for busy weeknights, this dish delivers crispy skin and tender, juicy salmon with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each / 170g each), fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced and zested
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (60g), softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemon dill butter: Soften butter to room temperature. In a small bowl, whisk together butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, and chopped dill until combined and fragrant. Set aside.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush each fillet lightly with olive oil on both sides. Season generously with salt and black pepper. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap.
  5. Air fry for 7-8 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork but remains moist inside. Cooking time may vary depending on thickness and air fryer model.
  6. Transfer salmon to plates and spoon lemon dill butter generously over each fillet. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for smooth blending. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispy skin. Check doneness at 7 minutes to avoid overcooking. Fresh lemon zest adds brightness. Substitute dill with tarragon or chives if needed. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to keep skin crisp.
