Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for dough (25g)
- ½ cup granulated sugar for coating (100g)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for coating (8g)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk (120ml), whole milk preferred
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (28g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- Cooking spray or oil for air fryer basket
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Make the dough: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough will be thick but slightly sticky. Do not overmix.
- Portion the dough: Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, portion out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on a parchment-lined plate or tray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the dough balls in a single layer without touching. Air fry for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning.
- Toss the warm bites in a bowl with the cinnamon and remaining ½ cup sugar using tongs or a fork to coat evenly.
