- 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam (optional)

- Plastic wrap (for rolling)
Instructions
- If baking your own cake sheet, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare yellow or white cake batter and spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet (9×13 inches). Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely. If using store-bought cake, unwrap and trim edges if needed.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on a clean surface. Place the cake sheet on top. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cake, leaving about a ½-inch border on one long side. Scatter thinly sliced strawberries evenly over the cream cheese. Dot small spoonfuls of strawberry jam over the strawberries if using.
- Using the plastic wrap to help, roll from the long edge closest to you tightly but gently to avoid cracking. Wrap the entire roll tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Remove the roll from the fridge and unwrap. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice into 1-inch pieces, wiping the knife clean between cuts. Dust lightly with sugar if desired and serve immediately or keep chilled until ready.
