Description
These sweet-and-savory maple chicken bacon sliders are a quick and easy dinner recipe that combines juicy chicken, crispy bacon, and a sticky maple glaze served on soft slider buns.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb / 450g)
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- ⅓ cup (80 ml) pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 8 small slider buns (soft Hawaiian rolls recommended)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Optional toppings: lettuce, sliced pickles, mayo
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook bacon strips in the skillet without overlapping until crispy, about 8-10 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain. Leave about 1 tablespoon bacon fat in the pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook in skillet with bacon fat about 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through and golden (internal temp 165°F / 74°C). Remove and let rest 5 minutes.
- Slice chicken into thin strips or chunks. Toss gently in maple glaze until well coated but not swimming.
- Brush insides of slider buns with melted butter. Place on baking sheet and toast in oven until golden and slightly crispy, about 5 minutes.
- Assemble sliders by layering glazed chicken on bottom bun, adding two bacon strips (or crumbled), and optional toppings. Cap with top bun.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Rest chicken before slicing to keep it juicy. Use thick-cut bacon for best texture. Use pure maple syrup for rich flavor. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Mix glaze just before use and toss chicken gently to avoid over-saucing. Warm glaze if it thickens before tossing chicken again.
