Savory Maple Chicken Bacon Sliders

  • Author: Nora Winslow
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 sliders 1x

Description

These sweet-and-savory maple chicken bacon sliders are a quick and easy dinner recipe that combines juicy chicken, crispy bacon, and a sticky maple glaze served on soft slider buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb / 450g)
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 8 small slider buns (soft Hawaiian rolls recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, sliced pickles, mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook bacon strips in the skillet without overlapping until crispy, about 8-10 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain. Leave about 1 tablespoon bacon fat in the pan.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook in skillet with bacon fat about 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through and golden (internal temp 165°F / 74°C). Remove and let rest 5 minutes.
  5. Slice chicken into thin strips or chunks. Toss gently in maple glaze until well coated but not swimming.
  6. Brush insides of slider buns with melted butter. Place on baking sheet and toast in oven until golden and slightly crispy, about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble sliders by layering glazed chicken on bottom bun, adding two bacon strips (or crumbled), and optional toppings. Cap with top bun.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Rest chicken before slicing to keep it juicy. Use thick-cut bacon for best texture. Use pure maple syrup for rich flavor. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Mix glaze just before use and toss chicken gently to avoid over-saucing. Warm glaze if it thickens before tossing chicken again.
