- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 strips bacon
- 4 brioche buns
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Irish whiskey
- 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp butter (for whiskey sauce)
Instructions
- Slice buns, cheddar, and any additional toppings. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 patties with a small dimple in the center of each.
- Heat skillet over medium heat and cook bacon until crispy. Set aside on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, cook patties on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side. Add cheese slices during the last minute to melt.
- Spread butter on the cut sides of the buns and toast them in the skillet until golden brown.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Stir in whiskey, heavy cream, and Dijon mustard. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
- Assemble the burgers: Place the patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun, add crispy bacon, drizzle whiskey sauce generously, and add any additional toppings. Finish with the top bun.
- Serve immediately.
