Description
This Hot Fudge Brownie Bread combines the gooey decadence of hot fudge brownies with the comfort of a moist chocolate loaf. Swirled with ribbons of hot fudge sauce, it’s an easy, show-stopping dessert perfect for any chocolate lover.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-process or natural)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (120ml) hot fudge sauce (homemade or store-bought, pourable)
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chunks (optional, semisweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Sift cocoa if lumpy.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Mix just until combined; batter will be thick.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips or chunks, if using. Reserve a handful for topping.
- Spread half the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half the hot fudge sauce over the batter.
- Top with remaining batter, then drizzle the rest of the fudge. Swirl gently with a butter knife.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a rack before slicing.
- Serve warm for gooey fudge or at room temperature for cleaner slices.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and eggs. Don’t overmix the batter after adding flour to keep the bread tender. Swirl the hot fudge gently for distinct ribbons. If using a glass pan, reduce oven temperature by 25°F. The bread freezes well; cool completely before wrapping tightly and freezing.
