  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g, for coating)
  • Vegetable oil spray (such as avocado oil spray)

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Slowly pour this mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring until a sticky, soft dough forms.
  3. Form the bites: Lightly flour your hands and pinch off small 1-inch balls of dough. Roll them gently to smooth the surface and place on a plate or baking sheet.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). While it preheats, mix the 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl for the coating.
  5. Air fry the bites: Spray the air fryer basket lightly with oil. Place the churro bites in a single layer without crowding. Spray the bites lightly with oil on top. Cook for 5 minutes, flip each bite, spray again, and cook for another 5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  6. Coat in cinnamon sugar: Toss the warm churro bites gently in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
