Easy Salmon Nuggets Recipe with Garlic Dip

  • Author: Nora Winslow
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crunchy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, these salmon nuggets are a quick, crowd-pleasing recipe. Paired with a creamy, garlicky dip, they make the perfect snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb skinless salmon fillets (~450g)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (~50g)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (~25g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour (~60g)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (~120g)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (~30g)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut salmon into bite-sized pieces, about 1½ inches each. Pat dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up breading station: In one bowl, add flour. In the second bowl, whisk eggs. In the third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Dip each salmon piece into the flour, then the egg, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure breadcrumbs stick.
  4. For baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange nuggets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and spray lightly with cooking oil. Bake for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. For pan-frying: Heat a skillet with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Fry nuggets for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Make garlic dip: In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
