Description
This oven-baked maple Dijon salmon is a quick, flavorful dinner that feels fancy but requires minimal effort. Sweet, tangy, and healthy, it’s perfect for busy weeknights or elegant dinner parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon filets (fresh or frozen, thawed, skin-on preferred)
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line your baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper or lightly coat it with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth and glossy.
- Pat the salmon filets dry with a paper towel and place them skin-side down in the baking dish.
- Generously coat each filet with the maple Dijon glaze using a brush or spoon.
- Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the filets, until it flakes easily with a fork and turns light pink inside.
Notes
[‘Don’t overcook the salmon; a good rule of thumb is 10 minutes per inch of thickness at 400°F.’, ‘Take the salmon out of the fridge 15-20 minutes before cooking for even baking.’, ‘Whisk the glaze until smooth to avoid pockets of mustard or syrup.’, ‘Experiment with add-ons like smoked paprika, cayenne, or crushed pecans for extra flavor.’]
