Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (360g)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 packet or 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, combine warm water (110°F/43°C), sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it’s foamy.
  2. Mix the dough: Add the flour, salt, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
  5. Shape and second rise: Punch down the dough to release air, shape it into a round loaf, and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
