Easy Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants Recipe for Parties

  • Author: Nora Winslow
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 croissants

Description

Warm, golden croissants filled with melty cheese and savory ham, perfect for brunch or parties. Ridiculously easy to make and customizable for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Store-bought croissant dough
  • Sliced deli ham
  • Cheese slices (Swiss, cheddar, gouda, brie, or pepper jack)
  • Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Egg wash (1 egg whisked with a splash of water or milk)
  • Optional toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, shredded cheese)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll the croissant dough and separate it into triangles or squares. Work quickly to prevent the dough from getting too warm.
  3. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each piece of dough (optional). Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the dough tightly, starting from the wide end and finishing at the tip to form a croissant shape. Repeat for all pieces.
  5. Whisk the egg with a splash of water or milk. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat each croissant with the egg wash.
  6. Sprinkle optional toppings like sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or shredded cheese over the tops.
  7. Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Let the croissants cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

[‘Don’t overfill the croissants to avoid leaks during baking.’, ‘Chill the dough if it gets too soft while working.’, ‘Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.’, ‘Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.’]
