  • 1 tablespoon (6 g) black tea leaves or 1 tea bag
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk (whole, almond, oat, or any milk of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) ground cinnamon
  • Sweetener to taste (honey, sugar, or maple syrup)

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling 1 cup (240 ml) of water in a teapot or saucepan.
  2. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, pour it over the tea leaves in your teapot or saucepan and allow the tea to steep for about 3-5 minutes.
  3. While the tea is steeping, measure out 1 cup (240 ml) of milk and heat it in a separate saucepan over low heat until warm, but do not let it boil.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) of ground cinnamon to the warm milk, stir gently, and let it sit for a minute to infuse the flavors.
  5. After the tea has steeped to your liking, strain it into a large mug or cup using a fine mesh strainer if needed.
  6. Pour the warm milk mixture over the brewed tea and stir well to combine the flavors.
  7. Add sweetener to taste, stirring until dissolved. For a frothy effect, use a whisk or frother to blend the milk and tea together.
