Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium pears (Bosc or Anjou, firm but ripe)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or local preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Wash pears, slice each in half lengthwise, and scoop out the core and seeds to create a well.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, melted butter, vanilla extract, fresh lemon juice, cinnamon, and sea salt. Stir well.
  4. Brush or spoon the honey vanilla glaze generously over the cut sides of the pears.
  5. Arrange pears cut side up in the baking dish and pour any leftover glaze over them.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until pears are tender and glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
  7. Cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil. If fresh lemon juice is unavailable, use a splash of apple cider vinegar. Watch oven temperature carefully to avoid over-browning. Add chopped nuts before baking for crunch. Serve warm, not straight from oven, to enhance flavor and avoid burning your tongue.
