Description
Tender, juicy pears baked with a warm honey-vanilla glaze, perfect for a healthy and indulgent breakfast or light dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium pears (Bosc or Anjou, firm but ripe)
- 3 tablespoons honey (raw or local preferred)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Wash pears, slice each in half lengthwise, and scoop out the core and seeds to create a well.
- In a mixing bowl, combine honey, melted butter, vanilla extract, fresh lemon juice, cinnamon, and sea salt. Stir well.
- Brush or spoon the honey vanilla glaze generously over the cut sides of the pears.
- Arrange pears cut side up in the baking dish and pour any leftover glaze over them.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until pears are tender and glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
- Cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil. If fresh lemon juice is unavailable, use a splash of apple cider vinegar. Watch oven temperature carefully to avoid over-browning. Add chopped nuts before baking for crunch. Serve warm, not straight from oven, to enhance flavor and avoid burning your tongue.
