Description
Crispy, golden pillows filled with creamy chicken goodness, paired with savory gravy, perfect for a cozy family meal or a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 stalks green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly with cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined and creamy.
- Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Fold the edges up and over to seal, forming a neat pillow.
- Place the assembled pillows on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
- While the pillows bake, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the pillows from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with gravy poured over the top.
Notes
[‘Don’t overstuff the pillows to avoid leaking during baking.’, ‘Seal the edges tightly, pressing down with a fork for extra security.’, ‘Let the pillows cool for 5-10 minutes after baking to set the filling.’, ‘Add fresh parsley or chives for garnish and extra flavor.’]
