Description
A quick and satisfying lunch recipe featuring melty cheese, crispy bacon, savory turkey, and golden sourdough bread.
Ingredients
- Sourdough bread
- Sliced turkey
- Bacon
- Cheese (sharp cheddar, Swiss, provolone, or mozzarella)
- Butter
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Dijon mustard (optional)
- Spinach or arugula (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Butter the sourdough: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Assemble the sandwich: Place one slice of sourdough buttered-side down. Layer turkey slices, crispy bacon, and cheese. Spread mayo and mustard on the unbuttered side of the top slice of bread before placing it on the sandwich.
- Cook the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula. The bread should be golden brown, and the cheese should be melted.
- Slice and serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it rest for a minute, then slice in half. Serve immediately.
