  • Author: David
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 fritters 1x

Description

These delightful baked apple fritters are easy to make and capture all the cozy flavors of autumn. Filled with sweet, spiced apples and topped with a luscious glaze, they are pure comfort in every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 medium-sized apples (about 1 cup), chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or apple cider (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter or coconut oil until well combined.
  4. Chop the apples into small pieces and fold them into the dry ingredients.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. While they bake, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar with milk or apple cider until smooth.
  9. Once the fritters are done, let them cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes before drizzling with the glaze.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegan version, use a flax egg instead of a regular egg. Adjust the glaze consistency by adding more sugar or liquid as needed.
