- 2 slices of sandwich bread (sourdough, whole wheat, or white)
- Unsalted butter, softened
- Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded or sliced
- 1 tart apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
- 2–3 slices of crispy cooked bacon
Instructions
- Cook the bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook bacon until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Prep the bread: Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer the ingredients: On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheddar cheese, apple slices, and crispy bacon. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Cook the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula until golden-brown and cheese is melted.
