- 1–2 teaspoons loose leaf Earl Grey tea or 1 tea bag
- 1 cup (240 ml) water
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) water (for simple syrup)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) brewed Earl Grey tea
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup (240 ml) cream soda
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Brew the Earl Grey Tea: Start by boiling 1 cup (240 ml) of water. Once it’s boiling, remove it from heat and add 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf Earl Grey or 1 tea bag. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Simple Syrup: While the tea is steeping, combine 1 cup (200 g) of sugar and 1 cup (240 ml) of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until dissolved and then remove from heat. Let it cool.
- Mix the Drink: In a tall glass, fill it halfway with ice cubes. Pour in 1/4 cup (60 ml) of the brewed Earl Grey tea, followed by 1/4 cup (60 ml) of simple syrup, and then add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of fresh lemon juice.
- Add the Cream Soda: Slowly pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of cream soda over the top. Stir gently to combine the layers.
- Garnish and Enjoy: For an extra touch, you can garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a stronger lemon flavor, adjust the lemon juice to your taste. If you want to make this drink ahead of time, brew the tea and make the simple syrup in advance.
