Description

This drink perfectly marries the bold flavor of Earl Grey tea with the effervescence of cream soda, creating a visually stunning and refreshingly delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 teaspoons loose leaf Earl Grey tea or 1 tea bag
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water (for simple syrup)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) brewed Earl Grey tea
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cream soda
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Brew the Earl Grey Tea: Start by boiling 1 cup (240 ml) of water. Once it’s boiling, remove it from heat and add 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf Earl Grey or 1 tea bag. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Simple Syrup: While the tea is steeping, combine 1 cup (200 g) of sugar and 1 cup (240 ml) of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until dissolved and then remove from heat. Let it cool.
  3. Mix the Drink: In a tall glass, fill it halfway with ice cubes. Pour in 1/4 cup (60 ml) of the brewed Earl Grey tea, followed by 1/4 cup (60 ml) of simple syrup, and then add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of fresh lemon juice.
  4. Add the Cream Soda: Slowly pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of cream soda over the top. Stir gently to combine the layers.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy: For an extra touch, you can garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a stronger lemon flavor, adjust the lemon juice to your taste. If you want to make this drink ahead of time, brew the tea and make the simple syrup in advance.
